Statement Win

It was a triumphant return to the stage for NRG VALORANT last Saturday with a 2-0 dismantling of LOUD to open the VCT Americas League!

The squad of Demon1, Ethan, Marved, Victor and crashies rolled into Riot Arena in a primetime matchup against the pride of Brazil. NRG started out a bit on the back foot on Breeze and found themselves down 5-7 at the half heading into the attack rounds. After winning the all important second-half pistol round, NRG was able to rattle off two more rounds and claim an 8-7 advantage.

With a back-and-forth bout between two heavyweights of the Americas, it was the Iceman Marved who broke a 9-9 deadlock with a highlight flick and 3K, providing the momentum needed for NRG to post 4 of the last 5 rounds and earn the first map victory. Marved certainly earned his praises on Breeze, leading the team with 21 kills!

Poised to showcase what we learned since our last showing on Sunset, NRG VALORANT came out red hot. A ridiculous 10-2 first half gave the boys all the momentum and cushion needed to go for the jugular right out of the gate in the second half. An efficient 3 round roll put the game away and closed out the 13-2 sweep. It was our favorite duelist Demon1 who led the troops with 19 kills, with every single player contributing in key areas of assists and team flashes to produce our most impressive victory of the young season.

It’s a terrific start to the regular season, but we know we’re just getting underway. With every single team in the Alpha Group defeating their Omega Group counterparts, we’re tied each at 1-0 as VCT Americas play rolls on. Next up for the team is another Brazilian side, FURIA, with the match set for a 5 PM start time this Sunday! Be sure to tune in on the VCT Americas Twitch and rep the NRG bundle in game!

NRG Closes In On Top ECL Spot

Another week of ESL Challenger League play is in the books, and the squad is continuing to look stronger and stronger!

It’s been a terrific couple of weeks both in practice and official server play, as NRG CS2 climbs to the top of the ECL standings. This week, NRG was able to secure a 3-1 week in the ECL, moving their season record to an outstanding 9-3 mark.

Opening the week against Carpe Diem, NRG were able to make quick work of their opponent on Ancient, with the fragger HexT securing a team-leading 17 kills en-route to a 13-3 drubbing. Continuing to build our map pool, NRG decided to play Nuke for Map 2, with the new IRL Walco stepping up in a big way, racking up 23 kills with a 13-6 scoreline to secure the combo of map wins.

Against BOSS, the team encountered their first roadblock of the week in a return to Ancient, unable to overcome a tough defensive first-round which featured an early eco-round victory by the opposition and an eventual 13-8 loss.

Next up for the team is continued ECL action along with open qualifiers for the newly minted Esports World Cup! More information on upcoming matches can be found as always by staying tapped into the NRG Current Twitter!
