NRG VALORANT came into week 5 of split 1 with a 1-3 record, facing stage elimination vs. Leviatan. Both teams entered the final match of the split simply needing to win to qualify for playoffs for VCT Masters Toronto.
Map 1 was close, with NRG pulling out an overtime win on Fracture, a map that NRG had not won on all season. Fueled by the momentum of the overtime clutch, NRG came out hot for map 2, and quickly dispatched Leviatan, 13-8, to secure the series win and a playoff berth as the #4 seed.
After a week of prep, the team is ready to face a gauntlet of teams on their journey to VCT Masters Toronto. Three wins in a row will clinch a slot in the coveted tournament. First up, the boys will need to secure a win vs. rivals 100T on Friday at 2:00 PM PT
Following our glorious run to major qualification last week, the boys are right back in action this Friday. The squad is traveling to Las Vegas to play in the LVL UP Expo Fragadelphia event. While Fragadelphia is usually a local / North American event, this LVL UP event will feature prominent European teams and overall, a much higher level of competition than usual.
NRG will look to defend its Fragadelphia Kansas City title and earn some much needed VRS points this weekend, before heading to Texas for IEM Dallas and the Austin Major in May and June respectively. Tune in this Friday through Sunday for all the action!
