NRG Esports is going mobile! It’s time to officially welcome NRG Galaxy home to the #NRGFam as our quest for competitive greatness takes us to PUBG MOBILE!
In our announcement video presented by Samsung, we handed the keys over to co-owner Sapnap to sign the BEST PUBG MOBILE team in North America, and he delivered! Joining NRG Galaxy is the core of Fate, J7, Spec and coach Telli! The team has been hard at work in preparation for the PUBG MOBILE Super League - Americas (PMSL) which takes place in São Paulo, Brazil in front of a live audience.
Similar to standard PUBG, the objective of this Battle Royale remains to stay ahead of the circle and win team fights to secure both placement and elimination points to add to your overall points totals. Placement points start as high as 10 points for a match victory, scaling down all the way to one point for finishing a game in the top-9 spots on the server. Each elimination adds one point to your overall score. Powered by the Galaxy S24 Ultra, we’re as strong as ever to stack up with the competition!
The 16 teams competing in the PMSL hail from all over the Americas, including NA, LATAM and Brazil. NRG Galaxy is in Group D alongside Brazilian heavyweights Alpha7 Esports, who have finished on the podium in each of the last two PUBGM World Championships. A new dynamic for the PMSL is the introduction of earning double points during one matchday per week. As a member of Group D, NRG will have the opportunity to earn double points on every Sunday of match play.
The PMSL spans across five days per week (Wednesday-Sunday) over the next three weeks, with the top three teams earning a trip to the 2024 PUBGM World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this July boasting a massive $3 million prize pool. A FINAL SEND OFF FOR NRG RL
Last week was an unfortunate end to the RLCS season for NRG Rocket League after failing to make it out of the Swiss Stage of the final NA regional.
The trio of GarrettG, Mist and Aqua once again battled through the 16-team gauntlet with highs and lows. Securing a pair of series victories against the likes of Spate Esports and Incorrect, but also suffering defeats at the hands of Dignitas and Luminosity. Tied at 2-2 in series record, a fifth and final round of the Swiss bracket stood in-between tournament life or death for NRG RL.
Squaring up against Moist Esports in Round 5, a forgettable Game 1 which saw the team fail to put the ball in the back of the net set up a crucial Game 2 in desperate need to level the scoreline. Unfortunately for the trio, a late goal gave Moist all the cushion needed to close Game 2 out 2-1, and another lack of offensive production in Game 3 sealed the series sweep for Moist.
With this result, NRG were officially eliminated from RLCS Major 2 and RLCS Worlds later this year. Despite being one of only seven teams in NA to qualify for every regional, NRG failed to crack the top-8 in five of six tries, a crucial mark needed to secure enough points needed to qualify for LAN.

PLAYOFFS AWAIT FOR NRG CS2
NRG CS2 is back in action this week, preparing for a true test right around the corner.
Competing in the Ace NA Masters Open Qualifiers, NRG CS2 is gearing up for another crack at making it to a BLAST Showdown LAN event, this one taking place later this year at the BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown in late August. The team is already only one match away from making it to the final closed invite qualifier held next weekend beginning on June 6.
Also next week is the moment we’ve been working towards for months now - the ECL Playoffs. Our opening round matchup against Nouns Esports is next Tuesday, June 4th and is sure to be a best-of-three thriller with the winner moving one step closer to ESL Pro League promotion held in Malta this September.
